Victim Mentality is Damaging You

Updated: Jun 9

We are all creators. We create the aspects and circumstances in our lives. We control how successful we are, and we are responsible for all that we manifest.

Embracing Our Creative Power

Okay, let's be real. These are provocative statements. Growing up, we aren't taught that we can take charge of the world we create. We can choose the direction our lives go based on our desires and intentions.

Instead, society teaches us that we are victims of our circumstances. Experiences seem to confirm this belief. Without a miraculous turn of events, usually something outside ourselves, we are destined to remain in the station of life we are born into.

Sure, we believe in the "American Dream." If we work hard, we might achieve wealth and independence. Unfortunately, this is not the way of abundance for most people.

As a student and teacher of ancient wisdom, I must admit that accepting my responsibility for all the circumstances in my life has sometimes been a bitter pill to swallow. However, it hasn't stopped me from healing and stepping more fully into my creative power.

Who is a Victim?

Would it trigger you if I said the only time someone is a victim is the exact moment something is done to them without permission?

It is important to confront our biases. This helps us build discernment between reality and our subjective illusion. Our subjective illusion includes all our biases, faulty programs, projected masks, and repressed emotions. It's how we perceive the world, the lens through which we see, and the place from which we judge others.

If we are victims only in a single moment of time, what do we become after the experience?

Some schools of thought suggest that you somehow "signed up" to learn through negative experiences. This idea implies that you couldn't learn valuable lessons from positive events. This is the foundation of victim mentality. You agreed to your suffering—it's yours to own. This notion is utterly flawed!

You did not agree to have bad things happen to you. Let's call this an evil act. In our world, bad things occur against our will. You are a victim during those moments when evil is perpetrated against you. However, you have the complete choice in how to react and behave afterward.

Would it surprise you to know there is actual empowerment in your choice of response?

Unfortunately, in a world filled with sensational journalism and dramatic narratives on social media, entire generations grow up believing they should identify with their victimhood. There are social movements focused on victim identity, seeking validation from others. This mentality is not a unifying force for good. Instead, it is a destructive mental construct that fosters division. Can you see now how damaging victim mentality is to our world and our unity?

Let’s Change the Process

I propose another way to deal with trauma—one that promotes healing and invites others to support your journey without engaging in your pain narrative.

Some trauma is tangible, like physical injuries. We've all witnessed the devastation of a motor vehicle accident or the horror of violent acts. In these cases, we can assess the situation, recommend counseling, and generally determine fault and assign blame.

However, most of the trauma we endure is intangible. The mental, emotional, and spiritual trauma often leaves no visible marks. Consequently, we cannot easily manage the long-term outcomes and support required for healing.

With a physical injury, we know how to aid physical healing and prevent infection. A team of trained professionals usually supports the healing process. Advances in technology and science help us recover from most physical injuries.

Healing intangible trauma requires a different approach. You're dealing with unseen wounds while resisting societal norms that proclaim, "Just move on," or, "It happens to everyone." Such mentalities often lead to re-victimization, resulting in repression and energetic damage to our energy bodies. Eventually, this damage manifests physically.

It wasn't until the Industrial Revolution that doctors became trustworthy figures in mainstream society. Before then, those drawn to study medicine or science were often viewed as eccentric. Today, doctors are highly trained professionals focused on the physical body and its diseases.

Now we are experiencing a new kind of revolution. Energy healers are becoming more mainstream. Working with one is an acceptable way to promote good health. However, we are still in the process of professionalizing this vital field. Energy healers focus on intangible traumas that leave lasting impacts on our energy, emotional, and mental states.

We must combine both systems—traditional medicine and energy healing—to actualize true healing. This partnership helps free us from a victim mentality, embrace our creator status, and shift our collective narrative from victimization toward empowerment.

Where to Start

There's a saying in 12-Step groups: You need to be "sick and tired of being sick and tired" before you will do something about it.

Consider the catalysts that prompted you to try something new in your life. This could be the end of a long-term relationship, being fired from a job, or getting entangled in a legal situation. These moments can become tipping points that motivate you to pursue deep self-discovery and seek help.

For some, inspiration comes from a single conversation, a movie, or even a TikTok video. These interactions can shift your perspective on old problems.

For the rare few, a spontaneous spiritual experience—a moment of pure connection with the Universe—can trigger a complete life transformation. Every subsequent moment is spent trying to understand that experience.

However it happens, it's time to let go of your victim narrative and embrace conscious creation and self-responsibility.

At the mystery school, we begin with an activation session called the Life Activation. This session helps you tap into your latent abilities and potential. It provides the energy to overcome disempowering patterns and emotions, setting you on a path of physical empowerment for the rest of your life.

Healing is a journey, not a destination. The Life Activation is just the beginning. Collaborating with a Spiritual Guide to create a custom progression plan lays out milestones, encourages spiritual growth, and guarantees someone dedicated to your healing and forgiveness journey. The goal is to free yourself from your victim identity and express your true self for the rest of your life.

I am here to remind you that all the power that ever was or will be is present now.

In Love and Service,
